Beef up your existing tracks by adding some massive tutti layers. We’re so happy with the results that we want to share them with you – as a “thank you” to our worldwide community of music creators, and as a “welcome” to new users.Ĭreate large orchestrations in no time. Capturing the sheer power of a massive orchestra with the signature acoustics of Synchron Stage Vienna’s Stage A was one of the most riveting sampling experiences we’ve ever had. We’ve recorded our entire Synchron Stage Orchestra playing together, all at once, with multiple microphones. Providing a “tutti” orchestra is a first for Vienna Symphonic Library. Well, that's it.The instrument offers super-quick large orchestrations with multiple microphone positions for stereo and surround output. I don't mind doing a lot of work in the VEP templates and even in Logic's environment, but would like to keep the arrangement window and mixer nice and clean (kind of foolproof). So, my main questions are: is there another way to get Logic and VEP working with a single instrument track outputting multiple 5.1 tracks? If not, do other DAWs work as such (and in that case, which)? And the last question, if none of the options I mentioned are possible, what would be another solution? I was hoping a few of you may have had similar issues. And with MIDI tracks/regions, that's not happening, and you'd have to bounce every region manually, which can be a lot of work. Also, when projects go to the mixing stage, I use the "export regions" function a lot. The reason I want to receive multiple 5.1 surround tracks from a single instance is to keep my instances nice and tidy and categorized, instead of having to create multiple VEP instances just to get every instrument outputted in 5.1 to Logic. Then have several MIDI tracks in Logic to send data to each individual instrument. My current new template is VEP sending only 1 5.1 output to Logic, and mixing down multiple instruments to a 5.1 stem inside VEP. Is this a limitation of VEP or Logic? And is there a workaround? Logic only shows mono, stereo, 5.1 or a combination of those, with only multiple mono or stereo tracks but no 5.1. However it looks like that's not happening. Just as with multiple stereo outputs from VEP, I was hoping this was also possible with surround outputs. So Kontakt sends away stereo tracks into VEP which get routed in VEP to surround tracks (which in reality only have audio in L-R and Ls-Rs, no C and LFE, so just quad). For my surround setup I was thinking of sending all ambience mics to the rear speakers, thus creating a 5.1 instrument track in VEP, which should send it to Logic.

Here are the problems I'm encountering now.Īs with my stereo template, I'd like to have all my instruments loaded in VEP. Now that I'm going surround, I was hoping I could use both Logic and VEP but expand them.

Then, all those instruments are routed out individually (horn 1 goes to 1-2, horn 2 to 3-4 etc). Horn 1 receives its notes from MIDI channel 1, horn 2 on ch 2, and so on.

My template of VEP and Logic consists of a few VEP instances, for example Spitfire Brass, which has all the brass loaded in multiple Kontakt patches. Before, everything I wrote was in stereo, so my Logic and VEP/Kontakt template was based on that. Not only because writing in surround is (in my opinion) fun and emerging but I also do a lot of re-editing music when it's coming back from the mix, which is done in surround. In a few days I'll be going from stereo to 5.1 surround.
